Looks like Commander in Chief Obama needs to explain who outranks whom. I think he ought to fire Odierno, based on recent public statements that the U.S. won't honor the new withdrawal agreement with Maliki's government.

Usually I assume Bush administration propaganda. Sometimes I wonder if our generals genuinely believe they are in Iraq to fight al-Qaeda, which was never more than five percent of the insurgency.

Maliki and Hakim want to decimate their political opposition using military force. Not likely to work to their advantage, IMHO. Many Iraqis already say Maliki is as bad as Saddam was.

I would say to hell with commanders on the ground, conditions on the ground, etc. Our forces invaded in Iraq in five weeks, they can un-invade just as fast.
